The pond is about 5 surface acres and 15 acre-feet. When full it has a maximum depth of 17 feet. Illegally stocked yellow perch apparently winter killed in 2003. The plan is to establish a sports with either largemouth bass or rainbow trout.

The proposed action is to install a prefabricated Clivus Multrum Systems compost toilet on the east side of the old fruit orchard area on Cedar Island. This would help mitigate the problem of increasing signs of human waste in the vicinity and along the shoreline. The installation of the toilet would reduce the potential human health hazard and degradation of the aesthetic quality of the area.
