Since the fees are set by law with the passage of I-161, the FWP Commission is not seeking public comment on the following license fees:
•$912 for the Class B-10 Nonresident Big Game Combination License
•$542 for the Class B-11 Nonresident Deer Combination License
•$458.50 for the Nonresident Youth Big Game Combination licenses (a 50 percent discount off the Class B-10 Nonresident Big Game Combination)
The Commission, however, has the authority to set the fee for the Nonresident Elk Combination License and is seeking comment on the following license fee:
•$812 B-10 Nonresident Elk Combination License
The price includes the required $5 drawing fee and $10 hunting access enhancement fee.

Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks (FWP), Region 1, has completed an environmental assessment (EA) for the purpose of accepting the donation of 13 acres of land with improvements northeast of Kalispell, Montana, near the Whitefish River for the purpose of establishing a fishing access site (FAS). The improvements would include a 5-acre pond, access and service roads, an entrance security gate, parking lot, picnic area, vault latrine, and perimeter fencing. A cash contribution of $20,000 from the Montana Fish and Wildlife Conservation Trust would be made to the landowner on behalf of FWP towards the property’s donated value.
The draft EA was out for public review through Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Nine comments were received during the comment period, all in support of Alternative B, to accept the donation. Based on the EA and public comment, it is
recommended to the FWP Commission that the department proceed with the proposed action, Alternative B, to accept the donation of the Pine Grove Pond for inclusion into the FAS program. (Decision Notices - 11/05/2010)
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) released a Draft Environmental Assessment on August 30th to grant $11,535 to Anaconda-Deer Lodge County for a shooting range development grant to construct an archery range. The range is located on county property along Cable Road in Anaconda, Montana. (Decision Notices - 11/03/2010)
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has completed the final 2-week public comment period for the proposed West Swan Conservation Project and released the amended decision notice. The attached amended decision notice includes FWP's response to all public comments received during the comment periods as well as the final recommendation to the FWP Commission for a proposed action. The proposed action is for FWP to pursue the conservation easement alternative on approximately 9,350 acres using funding from both the Bonneville Power Administration fish mitigation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Habitat Conservation Plan Land Acquisition programs. This item is on the FWP Commission agenda for final decision during a conference call scheduled at 9:00 a.m., November 9, 2010.
