This draft Environmental Assessment has been prepared for habitat restoration in Poindexter Slough. The Beaverhead Watershed Committee and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) propose to replace existing irrigation infrastructure, modify channel dimensions, and transplant riparian vegetation to improve fisheries habitat and restore natural processes of habitat formation and maintenance to Poindexter Slough. (Restoration & Rehabilitation - 01/17/2014)
FWP proposes to sell a 0.09-acre right-of-way (ROW) road easement across its Stuart Mill Bay Fishing Access Site on Georgetown Lake. Historic use of this 78-foot stretch of road by private landowners predates acquisition of the FAS by FWP. The purpose of the ROW is to provide two landowners with legal access across the FAS to their private property, in a manner that does not affect public use or the recreational or habitat values of the FAS. (Acquisitions, Trades & Leases - 01/16/2014)

Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (MFWP) propose to purchase a Conservation Easement (CE) on the Tom and Karen Browning Ranch. This CE will conserve agriculture and wildlife habitat and ensure continuing public access to the ranch’s lands and adjacent public lands. The Raundal Coulee CE would protect approximately 2,596 acres of riparian, plains forest, and sagebrush grasslands in southeast Petroleum County and the eastern boundary of Garfield County along the Musselshell River. The Tom and Karen Browning Ranch is divided into two parcels bordered by lands managed by US Bureau of Land Management and Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and other privately-owned lands. The project is located approximately 15 miles north of Mosby, Montana; 30 miles northeast of Winnett and 30 miles northwest of Sand Springs, Montana. (Conservation - 01/13/2014)
