The enclosed Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared for the proposed Poindexter Slough Fishing Access Site Habitat Enhancement. This project would replace bridge and fence infrastructure and create dense nesting cover, food plots and a shelterbelt for the benefit of upland birds, waterfowl and other wildlife. The project is a joint effort between Montana FWP and the Beaverhead Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
This Draft EA is available for review in Helena at FWP’s Headquarters, the State Library, and the Environmental Quality Council. It also may be obtained from FWP at the address provided above, or viewed on FWP’s Internet website: http://www.fwp.mt.gov .

After careful review of the proposal and public consideration, the final decision to proceed with the development of a campground at Yellowstone River State Park has been made. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has developed a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared for the proposed action of translocating up to 20 swift fox from within FWP Administrative Region 6 in northeast Montana to suitable habitat on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation (FPIR). This is an augmentation of previous translocations conducted in 2006 and 2009.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has released a Draft Environmental Assessment to provide $6,841 of Shooting Range Grant funds to the Great Falls Trap and Skeet Club towards the purchase of Voice Call Sets #1-4, Wired Canterberry Voice calls, four 6 ft park benches and to install connectors (sidewalks) at the 27 yard line on Traps 1, 2, & 3. The range is located in the SW ¼ NW ¼ of Sec. 34 & in the SE ¼ NE ¼ of Sec. 33; T20N, R2E P.M.M. in Cascade County, Montana, north of Ulm. The deadline to provide written comments is June 28, 2010.
