The Future Fisheries Improvement Program is proposing to provide partial funding to a project calling for enhancing the riparian vegetative community within a 1.76-mile reach of the upper Big Hole River and stabilizing approximately 500 feet of actively eroding stream bank within this 1.76-mile reach. The work would involve installing wildlife friendly riparian fencing, transplanting willow clumps and installing willow stems within the riparian corridor and stabilizing three actively eroding stream banks using bioengineering techniques. The intent of the project is to enhance habitat for fluvial Arctic grayling and other species of fish. The project site is located near the community of Wisdom in Beaverhead County.

The Future Fisheries Improvement Program is proposing to provide partial funding for a project calling for the restoration of a 2,500-foot degraded reach of Trail Creek, a tributary to the Yellowstone River. The intent of the project is to reduce sediment loading into downstream waters and to create an opportunity to re-establish a native Yellowstone cutthroat trout population into the upper basin. The project site is located on property owned by the Trail Creek Ranch, LLC approximately thirteen miles southwest of the town of Livingston in Park County.
