The attached Decision Notice has been prepared for habitat restoration on Poindexter Slough. The Beaverhead Watershed Committee and FWP proposed to replace existing irrigation infrastructure, modify channel dimensions, and transplant riparian vegetation to improve fisheries habitat and restore natural processes of habitat formation and maintenance to Poindexter Slough. Eight public comments were received during a 30-day comment period ending 17 February 2014.
Based on the Environmental Assessment, it is my decision to proceed with the Poindexter Slough habitat restoration project.
I find there to be no significant impacts on the human and physical environments associated with this project. Therefore, I conclude that the Environmental Assessment is the appropriate level of analysis, and that an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
Thank you for your interest.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has proposed to reintroduce Arctic grayling into several waters of the Madison Drainage and into Wise River, Twin Lakes, Van Houten Lake and Trail Creek in the Big Hole Basin over a period of 10 years. The proposal states that remote site incubators (RSIs) would be used at most locations, though Arctic grayling fry may be used in the proposed lakes. Eggs for the RSIs would be collected from wild Arctic grayling or from FWP’s wild Arctic grayling broodstock. (Decision Notices - 04/07/2014)
This letter is to notify you that I have made a decision regarding Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (MFWP) implementation of grazing lease renewal on the Haymaker Wildlife Management Area (HWMA). My decision is to move forward with the proposed action. The lease will allow the removal of current vegetation by grazing as a management tool to enhance the subsequent availability and palatability of forage on the HWMA described in the Environmental Assessment and a Draft Grazing Management Plan.
