The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission recently set the final furbearer regulations and quotas for the 2006 and 2007 trapping seasons.

Changes for the upcoming seasons include lowering the trapper limit from seven to four bobcats in northwestern Montana and the bobcat quota from 125 to 100 in northeastern Montana.

Commissioners also adjusted pelt-tagging requirements for otter, bobcat, fisher, and wolverine from 10 days after season closure to 10 days after harvest. Several new measures for trap setbacks near public trails and roads also were adopted.
