Flooding Forces Closure of Harry Morgan FAS

Recreation News - Region 2

Fri May 17 11:12:00 MDT 2013

Flood conditions prompted Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) to close Harry Morgan Fishing Access Site (FAS) on the North Fork of the Blackfoot River today.

The FAS will remain closed until river levels subside and the site is again safe for recreation. For updates on closures, check the FWP website at and follow links to “restrictions and closures.”

No other closures are in place at west-central Montana FASs at this time but FWP urges caution if venturing on or near rivers during high water. Rivers carry a large amount of debris in the springtime, and log jams and snags pose a dangerous hazard to boaters. Scout ahead and be prepared for changing conditions.
