Time is running out for floaters interested in applying for a Smith River permit.
Applications are due Feb. 15 for the annual permit issued by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks through a lottery. The permit is required to float the 59-mile section of river between Camp Baker and Eden Bridge.
Applicants can apply for a Smith River permit online through FWP’s automated licensing system, use a paper application available at fwp.mt.gov , or apply in person at any FWP regional office.
