Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on changes to commercial-use fees and rules at FWP's State Parks, fishing access sites and wildlife management areas.

Among the changes is a proposal for a three-day commercial-use permit at Fishing Access Sites at a reduced fee, in addition to the annual permit that exists today.  The proposed changes also would align the terms "outfitter and guide" with definitions used by the Montana Board of Outfitters.

Commercial users that could be affected by the proposed changes include fishing and rafting guides and those who offer guided walks and tours, trail rides, or who are commercial filmmakers.

A public hearing on the proposed changes is scheduled on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Red Lion Colonial Inn, 2301 Colonial Drive in Helena.

The proposed rules and fees are also available on the FWP Web site at fwp.mt.gov  under Public Notices, or call: 406-444-3750.

Comments, due by Sept. 28, can be emailed to: commercialcomments@mt.gov; or mailed to:  Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, Attn: Commercial Use Rules Comments, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701.
