The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission is seeking comment on a proposal that would allow state officials to close waters to recreational activities due to dangerous conditions.

Under the proposed rule, FWP's director could close public waters to boating, floating, swimming, fishing and other uses when a danger to public health and safety exists. The proposal would also expand FWP's authority to close its designated recreation areas due to fire emergencies or other dangerous circumstances.
