(Great Falls, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today:

What: A special event, “Art in the Park Day,” at Giant Springs State Park.

When: Saturday, Aug. 4,  9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: Giant Springs State Park, 4600 Giant Springs Rd, Great Falls.

Who: Local area artists in action.

Giant Springs State Park’s “Art in the Park Day” is an interactive event that encourages participants to watch and converse with local artists as they render the park’s inspiring surroundings in a variety of art forms and media. This is an opportunity to watch and learn as local artists spontaneously identify a subject and render it in a natural setting.

In Giant Spring State Park’s lush setting, visitors will find one of the largest freshwater springs in the country flowing at 156 million gallons a day. In the 2011 summer season (May – August) more than 146,000 people visited this state park and enjoyed the River’s Edge Trail and nearby Giant Springs Fish Hatchery.
