Water Safety Summer Program at Salmon Lake State Park

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today

What: Salmon Lake State Park Summer Water Safety Program.

When: July 14 at 8 p.m.

Where: Salmon Lake State Park, located five miles south of Seeley Lake.

Who: Ben Schmidt, Blackfoot River ranger, will present.

Schmidt will share water safety tips tailored to the conditions recreationists will find on Montana’s waters. He will cover rafting on white water, canoeing, motor boating, when to wear a life jacket and how to properly fit it for maximum safety.

Salmon Lake State Park, adjacent to Montana 83 in Western Montana, is an access point to one of the beautiful lakes in the Clearwater River chain of lakes. Plan to fish, picnic, launch your boat, and water-ski in this woodland setting of western larch, ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir. Salmon Lake State Park has seen a 36 percent increase in visitation this year compared to last year at this time.
