Montana State Parks: Dillon, Helena and Bozeman area State Parks enter Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is announcing to the public that state parks located in areas near Helena, Bozeman and Dillon are now in a Stage 1 Fire Restriction.

Bannack, Missouri Headwaters, Lewis & Clark Caverns, Black Sandy and Spring Meadow Lake State Parks: Open fires are allowed only in established iron fire rings and grills. Propane and LPG camp stoves are allowed. Smoking is not allowed except in enclosed vehicles or developed sites at least 3 feet in diameter and cleared of all flammable materials.

Beaverhead Rock, Clark’s Lookout, Madison Buffalo Jump and Elkhorn State Parks – all campfires and open flames are prohibited. Propane and LPG camp stoves are allowed. Smoking is not allowed except in enclosed vehicles or developed sites at least 3 feet in diameter and cleared of all flammable materials.

An update on stateparks.mt.gov will be issued when the restriction is lifted.
