Learn about Native Food and Resource Acquisition at Missouri Headwaters June 16

What: Missouri Headwaters State Park Summer Speaker Series presentation: “Native Seasonal Cycle of Food and Resource Acquisition,” by Tim Ryan, Salish and Kootenai tribal member from the Flathead Reservation and Heritage Education Specialist for Ethnotech, LLC. The 2012 speaker series theme is Exploring Nature.
Ryan’s presentation will include items of material culture of northwest Montana tribes. He is an archaeologist that has worked for his Flathead Reservation tribes for many years. Experiences with his elders and travels in his ancestors’ aboriginal territories have led him to help develop Ethnotech, LLC, a cultural resource management and heritage education firm.
When: 7 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012.
Where: Missouri Headwaters State Park picnic area, 1585 Trident Road, Three Forks, MT 59752. The park is located four miles north of Three Forks, just off of interstate 90.
(The rain location is the United Methodist Church Annex building, 116 East Cedar Street, Three Forks, Montana.)
