What: Missouri Headwaters State Park Summer Speaker Series presentation: A Naturalist in the Footsteps of Lewis and Clark by Dr. Stuart Knapp. The speaker series theme is Exploring Nature.
Dr. Knapp says that Meriwether Lewis must have had the “right stuff”: part nature in the form of adventure genetic material and part nurture from association with his family, President Thomas Jefferson, and members of the American Philosophical Society.

Dr. Knapp is professor emeritus, veterinary molecular biology, from Montana State University, Bozeman. From 1978 to 1988, he was MSU vice president for Academic Affairs. In the 70s, he was Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Professor of Parasitology at Oregon State University.
Dr. Knapp is also past president of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation.

Where: Missouri Headwaters State Park picnic area, 1585 Trident Road, Three Forks, MT 59752. The park is located four miles north of Three Forks, just off of interstate 90.
