BILLINGS — Lake Elmo will open for motorboat testing Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 63-acre reservoir in Billings Heights normally is restricted to paddle boats and small electric motors. Gasoline-powered boats are not allowed.
During one day each spring, however, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks opens the lake to all boats so owners can test and adjust their motors and equipment for the coming recreation season.
Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be on hand to assist boaters with inspections and safe boating information.
