Comments Sought on Black Sandy State Park Building Project

(Bozeman, MT) -Montana State Parks ( is accepting public comments on proposed improvements to Black Sandy State Park which is located on the shores on Hauser Lake just north of Helena. This project would involve the addition of a new building.

With approval, a pre-fabricated concrete building will be installed on a pad adjacent to the existing camp host site. The project will greatly improve the staff’s ability to serve the public. With electricity and access to the Internet on site, campground reservations will be more efficient, thereby improving visitors’ experience at the park and will likely increase park revenue.

An environmental assessment has been prepared for the project and copies may be obtained online at this Public Notice. Hard copies of are available at the Helena Area Resource Office of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, 930 Custer Ave, Helena, MT 59620.
