Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials recently announced a new round of training for Recreational Trails Program and the Off-Highway Vehicle Program grant applicants. The deadline to apply for these grants is July 1.
RTP and OHV program grants, federal and earmarked funds administered by FWP, go to federal, state, county or municipal agencies, private associations and clubs.
Eligible recreational trails projects include: development of urban trail linkages near homes and work places, construction and maintenance of trails, development of trailside and trailhead facilities, ethics education, interpretive programs and weed control along trails and trailheads.
Eligible OHV project examples include: existing OHV trail maintenance; signing; ethics education; noxious weed control adjacent to OHV trails; enforcement and route mapping.
Applicants are stongly encouraged to attend a grant-writing training session at one of the following dates and locations. Reservations are not necessary.

Bozeman - Wednesday, March 24, 7-9 PM, FWP Headquarters, 1400 South 19th Ave.
