Montana State Parks News - Region 4

(Ulm, MT) –Montana State Parks ( will host a Hike to the Jump at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park on Sunday, July 21 from 12pm to 2pm.

Join Us at the park for a ranger-guided hike to the top of First Peoples Buffalo Jump along the 3.5-mile roundtrip interpretive trail. During the hike you’ll learn about the jump’s history and how the First Peoples survived long ago. Learn to identify native plants and their medicinal uses. The hike will begin and end at the park’s Visitor Center.

Due to the length of time and distance that will be covered walking, consider this a moderately strenuous walk. Participants should bring water, snacks, a hat and wear appropriate footwear for the hike. Cost for the hike is $4 per person.  A park entrance fee of $6.00/per vehicle applies to non-residents. Hike may be cancelled due to bad weather.
