Montana State Parks News - Region 1

(Bigfork, MT) – Montana State Parks ( will host a Junior Ranger Day at Flathead Lake State Park at Wayfarers on Wednesday, July 24 from 12pm to 2pm. Join a park ranger to explore Wayfarers and discover the forest right in your backyard while you earn your Junior Ranger badge.

Junior Ranger Day is a drop-off program and is intended for children ages 4-10. Please have your child wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle, and dress for the weather. Participants will me in front of the Ranger Station at Wayfarers. This program is free, but spots are limited! Please call (406) 837-3041 to register.

Where: Flathead Lake State Park-Wayfarers, 8600 Mt. Hwy 35, Bigfork

Flathead Lake State Park consists of six unique park units located around Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. The park units on the east side are Wayfarers, Yellow Bay and Finley Point and the west side units are West Shore, Big Arm and Wild Horse Island. In addition to boating, swimming and fishing, each park unit offers unique experiences including camping, rental picnic shelters, group camping, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
