Montana State Parks News - Region 4

(Ulm, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host Traditional Games in celebration of National Public Lands Day at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park on Saturday, September 22 from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Join park staff and volunteers at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park for a fun day in the park with Traditional Native Games. Traditional native games were an important part of tribal culture during the days First Peoples Buffalo Jump was used for the hunting of buffalo. Join park staff and volunteers to learn more about these games and play them yourself. All ages invited. Games offered may include shinny, double ball, kickball, run and scream, as well as others. Indoor games will be offered if the weather is bad. Free for Montana residents, $6 entrance fee for non-residents.

Where: First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park, 342 Ulm Vaughn Road, Ulm, MT 59485.
The park is 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off of Interstate 15 at Exit 270.
