(Kalispell, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced todaypublic comment is being sought on a draft Environmental Assessment to install a visitor contact station that will provide increased visitor service at West Shore State Park located six miles south of Lakeside, Montana in Lake County. The contact station would be installed on the main park entrance road near the current self-pay station. The building would be 8 feet wide by 12 feet long and would maintain the character of existing park structures. The visitor contact station would be utilized during peak season to provide visitor service and process campground reservations. A visitor contact station would also serve to improve traffic flow during high use periods.
The cost for this project is estimated to be $25,000 from Parks Major Maintenance funding.
