(Billings, MT) – Join us - Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) for Women's Boater Education at Cooney State Park Saturday, May 24 from 9am to 1pm.
Women's Boater Education is an opportunity for women to get hands-on experience with boating operation and safety. The class will be broken up into 3 stations: hooking up and maneuvering a trailer with a vehicle, launching a boat from a boat ramp, and boat operation on the water. Participants will have a chance to complete all three stations.
The class will take place at Red Lodge Arm Campground at Cooney State Park. Participants should bring a sack lunch, sunscreen, sunglasses and a lifejacket (if they don't have one they can borrow one) and wear comfortable clothing. The event is free. Class size is limited to 15 people and participants need to RSVP by May 19. To reserve your spot contact Glennis Cates at (406) 445-2326.

Cooney State Park comprises 309 acres along the shores of Cooney Reservoir. It is one of the most popular recreation areas serving South Central Montana, while also providing important irrigation resources. The park is open year-round and features good walleye and rainbow trout fishing as well as opportunities for boating, camping, fishing/ice-fishing, and cross-country skiing.
