What: Chief Plenty Coups State Park invites the public to attend a Holiday Open House to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Museum/Visitor Center. Meet the new State Park staff, learn about the park’s history and enjoy a special sale in the gift shop. FREE food and beverages will be provided.

When: Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4pm – 8pm

In 1973, exhibits were completed and the Chief Plenty Coups State Park Museum was opened to the public. Re-discover the Museum/Visitor Center and the exhibits and learn about Crow history and one of the America’s most famous Native American leaders, Chief Plenty Coups.

Free food and beverages will be available and a special gift shop sale will take place during this event. Purchase those last minute gifts from Pendleton blankets, towels, and mugs to Crow beadwork, jewelry, and literature. Special sale items also include art work by: Kevin Red Star, Rabbit Knows Gun, and Patrick Hill. All Montana State Parks items will be discounted for this special event.

Chief Plenty Coups State Park is a National Historic Landmark located near Billings. This state park features Chief Plenty Coups’ two-story log cabin, farmstead, sacred spring and a Visitor Center. The park saw more than 36,000 visitors in 2012, an increase of 7% over the previous year.
