(Helena, MT) - Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that the citizen led Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Committee (OHVAC) will hold a meeting on Friday October 4th, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at the Wingate Hotel on 2007 North Oakes Street in Helena.
The OHVAC along with Montana State Parks’ staff will discuss; the Off-Highway Vehicle grant applications and proposed funding awards, responsibilities related to the new Montana State Parks & Recreation Board, information about the pending OHV Fuel Use Study, an independent study by the University of Montana that correlates fuel usage with the amount of OHV use in Montana, and the committee will also work on an upcoming schedule for the OHV Simulator Training Unit that is an education tool for kids and OHV enthusiasts around the state.
Public attendance at the meeting is welcome.

The Off-Highway Vehicle program is administered by Montana State Parks. The funds that support the OHV program are derived from gas tax and decal fees related to OHV use and registrations in Montana, and are separate from all Montana State Parks revenues, camping fees and other related funding sources.
