State Parks News - Region 3
(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today:
What: This Saturday is our final Naturalist Hike of 2013 at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. We have had patches of raptors come through and lots of smaller bird species stopover in the brushy parts of the park on their way south for the winter. We will take a 2 mile hike around the Greer Gulch Loop area to see what is about this Saturday morning starting and ending with the Nature Loop area that has seen quite a few unusual species the last couple weeks. Numbers and diversity will not be as high as early in the season, but there is always a chance at something odd showing up in September. Good hiking shoes, binoculars, camera, water, a snack and appropriate clothing for changing Autumn weather conditions are all a good idea.
When: Saturday, September 21, 9:00AM
Where: Main (lower) Visitor Center
Presenter: Tom Forwood, State Parks Ranger
