(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks ( announced today that applications for the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) grant program are being accepted online starting Monday, June 17 through August 2.

This is the first year that applicants will apply online through a web based grants system.

OHV program applicants can include federal, state, county or municipal agencies, private associations and clubs (not individuals).

OHV eligible projects include, but are not limited to: maintenance of existing OHV trails, signs; ethics education; noxious weed control adjacent to OHV trails; and safety and education projects.

The Off-Highway Vehicle program is administered by Montana State Parks. The funds that support the OHV program are derived from gas tax and decal fees related to OHV use and registrations in Montana, and are separate from all Montana State Parks revenues, camping fees and other state parks related funding sources.

There is approximately $180,000 in funding to be awarded, typically divided between 10-15 projects. The Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Committee provides guidance and assistance with the application review process in the fall.
