(Kalispell, MT) – Lone Pine State Park (stateparks.mt.gov) is celebrating National Winter Trails Day by hosting a Cross Country Skiing Workshop. Want to try a new winter sport or build on your current knowledge? Join us and learn the basics of Cross Country Skiing from experienced ski instructor Lou Albershardt. Participants will meet at the Lone Pine State Park Visitor Center for the class room portion and then travel to Herron Park for skiing practice. Pre-registration is required for this $10 class. To register call Kim at 755-2706 ext. 2. Bring your own skis and equipment or rent equipment to bring and dress in warm clothes. The workshop is open to adults 16 years and older.

Lone Pine State Park is located 5 miles southwest of Kalispell and offers one of the most vivid views of the valley, 7.5 miles of trails, and a beautiful interpretive center that provides information on living in a wildlife urban interface. Additional amenities include a picnic shelter and a community room, which are both available to rent, as well as a volleyball court, horseshoe pit, and an archery range. Furthermore, Lone Pine offers a fantastic variety of educational and interpretive programs.
