Montana State Parks Announces Update on Makoshika Road Project

(Glendive, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that the switchback road leading to the upper area of Makoshika State Park open to the public on May 1, 2015. Monitoring of the project will continue through 2015.

Public Comment Sought on EA for Eden Bridge Amended Host Site Improvement Project at Smith River State Park

(Helena, MT) –Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that public comment is being sought on a draft environmental assessment (EA) for an amended host site improvement project located at Eden Bridge in Smith River State Park. Eden Bridge is the take-out site for recreational floaters on the Smith River near Ulm, MT. Approximately 5,000 people per year float the Smith River.

2015 Smith River Float Permit Lottery Results Now Available

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that permit lottery drawing results to float the Smith River in 2015 are now available online through the Fish,Wildlife & Parks Automatic Licensing Service at direct link: https://app.mt.gov/als/index/index.html. Successful permit applicants will also be notified by mail.
