Hunting - Region 1

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is reminding mountain lion hunters that the deadline to apply for the special mountain lion license drawing has been moved to August 14 giving hunters only a few weeks to submit their applications. Most hunting districts in Regions One and Two require a Special Mountain Lion License to harvest a mountain lion with dogs. Hunters are encouraged to review the 2014 Mountain Lion Regulations, which are available at license providers, FWP regional offices, and at http://fwp.mt.gov/hunting/regulations/, to determine whether the hunting district they wish to harvest a lion with dogs is open to a general license, or if a special mountain license is required.
