Hunting - Region 4

Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking comments on a draft environmental assessment (EA) proposing a fee title purchase of about 320 acres as an addition to the Blackleaf Wildlife Management Area, west of Bynum in Teton County.
The proposed addition consists of timbered grasslands and wetland habitat. The purchase and management of the property would protect year-round grizzly bear habitat, as well as winter range for elk and mule deer.
The property, currently owned by the Conservation Fund, would be managed as part of the Blackleaf WMA, which now consists of 10,397 acres.

Copies of the draft EA area are available on the FWP website at http://fwp.mt.gov/news/publicNotices/environmentalAssessments/acquisitionsTradesAndLeases/.

Hard copies or CD copies are available via email at rrauscher@gmail.com, by phone (406) 271-7033 or at FWP’s Great Falls office, 4600 Giant Springs Road, Great Falls MT 59405.
Comments may be made online on the EA webpage, or mailed or emailed to the above addresses. Comments must be received by FWP no later than 5 p.m., March 11, 2014.
