Bow Hunter Education Courses Offered in SE Montana

MILES CITY—Several opportunities to attend bowhunter education classes have been scheduled for southeast Montana. All students must register online (Register online at fwp.mt.gov, click education) for the following courses. All first-time bow hunters regardless of age must complete the Bowhunter Education Course to purchase an archery stamp in Montana. All classes are free of charge.

Terry
Registration: Must be done online now through Feb. 16th. Must also pick up workbook on Feb. 17 from 6 – 7 p.m. at Terry Wesleyan Church.
Class: Feb. 24, 25, 27, 28, 6 – 9 p.m.
Field day: March 1, 9 a.m. – Noon at Ken Lacquement property. Online students are welcome but must pre-register no later than Feb. 26. Must bring bow equipment, certificate of completion and photo ID to be admitted.

Forsyth
Registration: Open now through March 3rd; must be done online.
Class: March 4 & 6, 6 – 9 p.m. and March 8, 8 a.m. – Noon at Forsyth High School, room 3.
Field day: March 8, Noon – 4 p.m. at Pronghorn Archery Club. Open to online students; must register online no later than Mar. 7. Must show proof of online test completion and photo ID to be admitted.

Miles City
Registration: Must be done online Feb. 10 – Mar. 3. Once registered, must pick up homework packets from FWP office no later than Mar. 3. Any student who does not pick up packet by Mar.3 will be dropped from class.
Class: Mar. 5 -7, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at FWP office
Field day: Mar. 8, 8:00 a.m. – Noon at Spotted Eagle Recreation Area. In case of inclimate weather, field course will be held at FWP office. Online students are welcome but must register online no later than Mar. 2nd. Must provide proof of online test completion and photo ID to be admitted, and arrive no later than 8 a.m. to be admitted.

Ashland
Registration: Must register online or by contacting instructor no later than March 21st. Class is limited to first 15 students.
Class: March 25 – 28, 6 – 9 p.m. at St. Labre Teacher’s Conference Room
Field day: March 29, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at St. Labre Gun Range. Online students are accepted; only 5 students will be taken. Must pre-register online and notify instructor of attendance no later than Mar. 21st. Must show proof of online test completion and photo ID to be admitted.

Broadus
Registration: Must be done online April 30th through June 18th. Those who cannot register online may sign up in person with Jeff Noble at the courthouse in Broadus. Registered students must pick up their materials at the courthouse no later than June 18th.
Class: Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd from Noon to 7pm at the Powder River County Courthouse both days.
Field Course: Sunday, June 22nd from 5pm to 7pm. Online students will not be accepted in the field course at this time.
Notes: Please have all parental forms signed and presented the first day of class. These parental forms may be printed out online or found in the Bow Education packet.
