Meeting Set on Raundal Coulee Conservation Easement

Hunting - Region 4

Mon Dec 30 15:11:00 MST 2013

Fish, Wildlife and Parks will hold a public meeting about a proposal to purchase and manage a conservation easement at the Tom and Karen Browning Ranch, 15 miles north of Mosby in central Montana.
The meeting will take place 7 p.m., Jan. 6, at the FWP Lewistown office, 215 W. Aztec Drive, near the airport.
This conservation easement (CE), called the Raundal Coulee Conservation Easement, will protect and conserve in perpetuity about 2,600 deeded acres of sagebrush grassland, plains timber, riparian habitat, and farm ground, including about 3.5 miles of Musselshell River frontage.
The Raundal Coulee CE will guarantee free public access for hunting, fishing, trapping and other recreational pursuits on deeded CE lands, meeting FWP objectives in providing access and recreational opportunities to the public.
FWP has put together for public review and comment a draft environmental assessment for this proposed CE. The EA and associated documents are available on FWP’s website at
Hard copies or CD copies of these documents are available by phoning (406) 538-4658, or writing Region 4 FWP, 4600 Giant Springs Road, Great Falls MT 59405.
Comments may be made online on the EA webpage or by mail to the address above. Comments must be received by FWP no later than 5 p.m., Jan. 11, 2014.
