Again this year, youth will be able to hunt deer on Oct. 18 and 19, the Thursday and Friday just before the Saturday general opener.

FWP stresses that the hunt is for deer only and applies to legally licensed hunters 12-15 year of age and 11-year olds who will turn 12 years old by January 16, 2013. Youth hunters must be accompanied by a person 18 years of age or older who is not hunting

The standard rifle season for all hunters gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 20 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 25.
