Montana's Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet June 8 and 9 in Helena at the FWP headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave.
The FWP Commissioners' will meet June 9 to make final decisions on the 2012 moose, sheep, goat, deer and elk license auction rules, the 2011 mountain lion quotas, and on trailing domestic sheep across the Robb Ledford Wildlife Management Area.
The FWP Commission will also consider proposals on the:
- acquisition of land in the Milltown Dam area for a state park,
- 2011 deer and elk quotas outside the biennial quota ranges,
- 2011 antelope quotas outside the biennial quota ranges,
- 2011 furbearer quotas,
- 2011 bison quotas and season structure, and a
- 2011 hunting access agreement on the N-Bar Ranch near in the Snowy Mountains.
The commissioners will be asked to endorse a Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation fire restoration project at Fish Creek WMA in northwest Montana, and hear an update on the state parks reservation system and on license and permit application dates.
A June 8 work session beginning at 10 a.m. will include discussion on the authorities and roles of the FWP Commission, the biennial regulation setting process and elk management in the Missouri Breaks. Commissioners will reconvene the work session June 9 at 1 p.m. to review the Fort Peck and Flathead Lake management plans.
