Headlines - Region 4

Steve Aaberg, a Billings archaeologist, will present a program about an inventory on a recent addition to First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park.

The program titled “I Can See More Piles and Piles: A New Look at an Old Park” will run 2-4 p.m., April 17, at the state park near Ulm, southwest of Great Falls. It is part of the April archaeology month events being held statewide.

Aaberg will summarize findings of an inventory conducted in early summer and fall of 2008 on 418 acres added to the park from the Eustance Ranch.

Aaberg took part in an archeological dig at the park in 1991, in which he helped discover the richness of the park’s cultural resources.

The April 17 presentation is free.  Refreshments will be available.
