A drawdown of water from Martinsdale Reservoir has prompted Fish, Wildlife and Parks to urge caution to those who want to ice fish on the water body east of White Sulphur Springs.

"The upper Musselshell water users association is taking water out of Martinsdale Reservoir," says Woody Baxter, FWP Region 4 parks supervisor. "Trying to refill Deadman Reservoir."

Earlier this year Deadman Reservoir was drawn down for dam maintenance. The dam work was recently finished, Baxter says.

A caution sign has been placed at the reservoir’s fishing access site by the water users association, Baxter says.

Some additional drawdown will continue throughout the winter.
