Women's Flyfishing Class

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will sponsor a women's beginning flyfishing workshop on Saturday, May 9th at Snappys Sport Senter in Kalispell. The workshop is part of the Becoming An Outdoorswoman program to introduce women to outdoor activities and teach basic skills. The workshop will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and will cover equipment selection, knots, fly patterns and selection, reading the water and will include flycasting instruction and fishing in Snappys Pond. Cost will be $15, which includes lunch, snacks and some materials. Women can bring their own flyfishing equipment or there will be loaner rods available.

The course will be taught by Ann Kendall, Jane Latus Emmert and Jim Vashro and is suitable for those new to the sport or beginners who want to work on their skills. The class will be limited to 20 women age 18 and older, call Kalispell Fish, Wildlife and Parks at 751-4549 to pre-register for the course.
