Bowhunter Education Class Planned for Darby

A Bowhunter Education class is planned for Darby beginning May 2.  Interested students must register and begin classes on Saturday, May 2 at 6 p.m. at the Darby High School Library.

Classes are May 2 from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Darby High School Library. 

The class is free of charge and limited to the first 30 students. A student must be at least 11 years old to receive certification and a parent or legal guardian must accompany students under 18 to register.

By state law, all first time bowhunters must complete a bowhunter education course in order to purchase an archery license.   Bowhunters born after January 1, 1985 must also show proof of completing a hunter education program.
