Calf Injured by Wolves in Ninemile Valley

Headlines - Region 2

A domestic calf was injured by wolves on private land in the Ninemile Valley west of Missoula. USDA Wildlife Services investigated and confirmed the incident on Apr. 20, as well as another probable wolf-related livestock depredation on the same property.

The injured calf survived the incident, and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is working with the livestock producer to try to reduce future depredation risks and monitor the area for wolves.

The wolves involved in the incident were likely members of the Ninemile Pack, which is routinely known to use this area.
