Trapper Education Course Set

Wed Jan 28 00:00:00 MST 2009

Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the Montana Trappers Association will offer a trapper education course March 7 in Great Falls. This will be the only trapper education course held in north central Montana this winter.

The free course will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Great Falls FWP office, 4600 Giant Springs Road.

MTA instructors will emphasize trapper ethics, trapping heritage, and trap sets. An FWP game warden will be on hand to talk about trapping regulations. Instructors will show actual trap sets and techniques.

People of all ages are invited to attend, but should bring a lunch. Students who complete the course receive a certification card. The course is not mandatory for trappers but strongly recommended.
