Saturday Overlook Walks: Would you like to know more about the natural and cultural history of Lone Pine state park and Flathead valley? Then take an overlook walk at Lone Pine state park this summer. Guided overlook walks are held on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. through Saturday August 23. Plan on meeting at the Lone Pine Visitor’s Center. Walks are approximately 30 minutes long. Please wear sturdy walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Introduction to Archery: Lone Pine State Park is wrapping up its summer workshop series with this exciting program for archers of all skill levels. Join expert archers Joan Stewart and Dale Probert here at Lone Pine Saturday, August 2 from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and learn a new sport or brush up on old skills. We will begin the morning in the visitor’s center community room with a presentation about the history of the sport and the various recreational opportunities available, then we will move outside, where participants will have the chance to practice shooting recurve and compound bows at short distance targets. Cost is $10 per person. Ages 8 years to adult. Bows will be provided. This workshop is limited to 15 people so please register early!
