Delayed Opening Date for Frenchtown Pond State Park
Headlines - Region 2

Monday, April 30, 2007

Frenchtown Pond, the popular, water – based State Park located 15 miles west of Missoula, will open on May 15, 2007 – some two weeks later than the traditional opening date of May 1.  The reason for the delay is a large, ongoing construction project at the park that poses a safety hazard to visitors.  The project which features the installation of an irrigation system, will allow for the planting of shade trees and small lawn areas for this busy summer site.   However, the good news is that all other West-Central MT State Parks will open on May 1: Placid & Salmon Lake State Parks near Seeley Lake, Beavertail Hill near Clinton, Lost Creek near Anaconda, Painted Rocks near Darby.  Come enjoy your favorite State Parks in 2007.  Montana State Parks, Real Montana – Real Close.
