A wolf was recently killed by a vehicle along I-90 just north of Deer Lodge, Montana.

The carcass was retrieved by Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the remains were taken for analysis.  Because it was not marked, the origin of the wolf is unknown.

FWP encourages anyone who sees a wolf or wolf sign, such as a den, scat, or track, to contact the nearest FWP regional office or Carolyn Sime, statewide wolf coordinator, at 406-841-4016.  Data gathered from observations provides biologists with additional information on wolf numbers, pack size, distribution, and recent activity.
