Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Helena April 14, beginning at 8 a.m. at the FWP headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave.
The commission will make final decisions on the 2005 Parks Fee Rule; Future Fisheries special drought mitigation projects; commercial fishing regulations on Canyon Ferry Reservoir and Lake Helena both near Helena; and the authority of FWP's director and an FWP commissioner to close fishing on waters affected by drought. The Commission will also make a decision on a one-month extension of the Beaverhead and Big Hole river recreation rules, with a final decision scheduled for May 12.
Tentative decisions scheduled at this meeting include the 2005 moose, sheep and goat quotas; the 2005 mountain lion hunting quotas; and the auction rules for the annual moose, sheep, deer, elk and goat license auctions.
Information will also be provided on various land projects, including acquisition of 25 acres within the 9,000-acre Garrity Mountain Wildlife Management Area near Anaconda.
The meeting will conclude with a legislative update and a viewing of the newly produced FWP and Montana Stock Growers video titled "Owning Eden."
