Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission To Meet Aug. 5 In Helena

Montana‚Äôs Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Helena, Aug. 5, beginning at 8 a.m. at the FWP headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave.  

The commission will make final decisions on the:

*        2004 antelope quotas,

*        2004 furbearer regulations and quotas,

*        early season migratory bird regulations,

*        sage grouse management plan and environmental assessment.

Tentative decisions will be made on the 2005 fishing regulations; 2004 late season waterfowl seasons; the criteria to extend hunting seasons in 2004; rules for the moose and sheep auction and the deer and elk auction or lottery; and a conservation easement proposed for the Bird Creek Ranch, 4.5 miles north of Cascade.

Informational items on the agenda include an update on river recreation management and on the Private Land/Public Wildlife Council.
