Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Helena on July 8, beginning at 9 a.m. at the FWP headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave.
The commission will make final decisions on:
- leasing water from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation at Painted Rocks Reservoir south of Darby;
- removing the fishing limit on Hubbart Reservoir, west of Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana, to encourage anglers to take fish before the reservoir is drained for an inspection;
- rules governing transplanting prairie dogs; and
- the final 2004 deer and elk quotas.
Tentative decisions will be made on the webless migratory bird regulations and whether to reconsider an FWP Commission ban on the introduction of walleye west of the Continental Divide.
A 1:30 p.m. public appeal of the West Shore State Park development project planned on Flathead Lake will include testimony by parties appealing the project and by FWP legal counsel.
