Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission To Meet June 9-10 In Helena

Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will gather in Helena June 9-10 for a work session and meeting.

The FWP Commission meeting is set to begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 10 at the FWP Headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave.  Commissioners will take final action on harvest quotas for mountain lions, moose, bighorn sheep, and mountain goats.

The commission will also consider final action on several other issues, including: authority to close waters to fishing during drought; 2005 budget and legislative proposals; a water-lease request from the International Malting Company in Great Falls; and several land-related matters. Tentative decisions will be made on the 2004 furbearer regulations and quotas, and the river recreation management administrative rule.

At the work session, set for 8 a.m., Wednesday, June 9 at the MACO Conference Room, 2715 Skyway Drive, Helena, the commission will discuss drought, PCB concerns at Big Springs Creek; management of exotic species; public access at county bridges; warm water fish stocking west of the Continental Divide; river recreation, and Block Management.
