The Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission is seeking comment on a proposal to establish no-wake zones near new boating developments on Hauser Reservoir.No-wake zones would be established at boating sites at Devil's Elbow and Clark's Bay, which was formerly a Lewis and Clark County Recreation site. The federal Bureau of Land Management recently developed the sites and requested no wake zones for public safety in these busy portions of the reservoir.

In addition, the proposal would formalize an existing no-wake zone near the York Bridge Fishing Access Site boat ramp and modify how the rule describes the no-wake zone at Black Sandy Beach to include Hauser Lake State Park.

Comments on the proposal will be accepted until 5 p.m. on May 25.A public meeting will be held May 24 at the FWP Helena headquarters building, 1420 East 6th Ave., at 7 p.m.

Requests for copies of the proposal for review, questions or comments should be directed to the Helena Area Resource Office, 930 Custer Ave. West, Helena, MT, 59620-0701.For more information call 444-4720.
